Visa Credit Cards

In 1958 Bank of America launched it's BankAmericard product (branded Visa since 1976) with a then innovative revolving credit feature. It has since grown into the world's largest retail electronic payments network with over 16,000 financial institutions as customers, over 29 million merchants worldwide accepting Visa branded cards, over 1.6 billion cards issued and 50 billion transactions. It is one of the most recognized financial brands on earth, if not the most well known.

Visa Inc. does not issue credit cards, set credit limits or APRs, or make loans to it's cardholders. Instead these things are done by the banks, credit unions and other financial institutions that are their clients. Instead it operates the network over which Visa branded transactions occur and makes it's revenue from fees paid by financial institutions for processing these transactions as well as other related services.

Visa Inc. is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Our Assessment:  With their wide acceptance, range of offers and types and overall customer protections. we feel that Visa Cards are a valuable addition to your purse or wallet. Visa Cards are highly recommended but remember that your relationship is with the issuing bank, credit union or other financial institution, not with Visa Inc itself, so take the time to check each bank's offerings to make sure you get the best match for your needs.
