Affinity Credit Cards

Affinity credit cards make a statement about the cardholder. They proclaim an association with groups, activities, causes, schools, sports teams and other interests.

Our Assessment:
Credit cards should primarily be evaluated by the benefits they provide to the cardholder and by their overall cost, if any. If an affinity card passes this examination then it is a prime candidate for your wallet or purse. If not, then the individual is the judge whether the affiliation is worth having a less than optimum credit card.

Our Recomendations:

• HSBC Bank issues a card for members of Labor Unions that has features geared to their needs. For that reason we have made this card an Editor's Choice.
• Discover has an American Flag card for those cardholders who wish to show their patriotism and a series of Wildlife themed cards for those cardholders who love wildlife and the great outdoors. Like most Discover Cards they offer cash back as a reward for using the card. For that reason we recommend these cards.
